Why this happens
Addresses can appear in slightly different formats depending on how lenders and councils record them (for example: flat numbers, abbreviations, or line order).
This usually doesn’t affect your credit score.
What you can do
If you want to standardise the format:
Check the address format on Royal Mail’s Postcode Finder.
Make sure your address appears exactly as shown, including flat numbers, building names, or floor details.Ask your lenders and/or council to update their records so they all use the same format.
Using one consistent format across all providers can help avoid linking issues.
Any changes reported to Equifax can take up to 6 weeks to appear on your credit report in your ClearScore account.
When you should raise a dispute
If the formatting issue is causing real problems - for example:
accounts missing from your report
difficulty matching your credit file
incorrect address links
you should raise a dispute with Equifax.
