ClearScore can put you in touch with one of our mortgage partners, to speak to a mortgage expert and check your remortgage options. It’s free to get started, and you don’t have to go ahead.
What you’ll need
Before you start, have these details ready:
- Your property and current mortgage details
- Your income and expenses
- The other person’s details, if you’re remortgaging with someone else. Please make sure you have their permission to submit their details on ClearScore and you’ve shown them the ClearScore Privacy Policy.
How to check your remortgage options
- Go to Offers, then Mortgages. You can also access this option from the “Your home” section in Credit Health.
- Under Remortgage, you’ll see your mortgage. Select See your remortgage options.
- Select Get started.
- Tell us about your mortgage.
- Check your income, expenses and credit history.
- Check your details, then select Everything is correct.
- Choose whether to speak to a mortgage expert.
Telling us about your mortgage
We show the mortgage we found for you. If you have more than one, we’ll ask you to confirm which mortgage you wish to remortgage.
Then we’ll ask:
- The address of the property
- What type of rate you have
- When your fixed rate ends, if you have one
- Why you’re remortgaging
- If you want to borrow more money
A fixed rate stays the same for a set time. A variable rate can go up or down. This includes your lender’s standard variable rate, which is their usual rate.
Borrowing more
You can ask to borrow more money than you did when you originally got your mortgage. This could change your loan to value. Loan to value is how much you owe compared with what your home is worth. If it changes, the deals you can get might change too.
Remortgaging with someone else
You can add another person’s details, like their income, job and credit history. Before you add them, make sure you have their permission. We’ll share our privacy policy and terms and conditions with you and require you to share them on with the other person providing their details.
Speaking to a mortgage expert
When you’ve checked your details, we’ll suggest a mortgage expert from one of our trusted partners. A mortgage expert is a mortgage broker – a company that compares mortgages from lots of lenders and helps you apply.
To speak to them:
- Enter the best phone number for your call.
- Select Speak to an expert.
We’ll share your phone number and details with our partner. They can then contact you by email, text or phone about your mortgage.
If you’re not ready yet
Select I’m not ready yet. You can come back at any time.
