What has happened?
From the 2nd September 2020, some users started receiving ClearScore Alerts informing them that a Hastings Insurance hard search will be added to their next credit report.
Hastings Insurance have confirmed that these hard searches were recorded incorrectly due to a technical issue on their platform.
When individuals completed an online insurance quote with them between 2nd September (at 08:27) and 4th September (at 13:02), they were incorrectly reporting these as a hard search as opposed to a soft search.
What do I need to do next?
Hastings Insurance have now resolved this issue, and we can confirm that all hard searches were removed from affected users’ credit files by the 9th September.
Any ClearScore users affected will see this information removed from their next updated credit report (if this hasn’t been removed already).
If the search still remains after 4-6 weeks or if you have any further questions, you can contact Hastings Insurance directly .
