If you don’t recognise a notification about a missed payment:
- Contact the lender directly- They’ll be able to provide you with more information about this missed payment. They’ll also be able to make any amendments to your account information if there’s a mistake on their part.
- If they’ve amended/updated their information- Once they’ve updated their information, this change should reflect on your credit report in up to 6-8 weeks.
- After 8 weeks- If it’s been longer than this time since you’ve contacted the lender involved, you can raise a dispute with Equifax to investigate this further. However, you’ll need to make sure you’ve verified your email address first.
To verify your email address:
1. Go to the ‘Your details’ tab of your 'My Account' section
2. Select ‘Verify’, you’ll then be sent an email with a verification link.

Missed payments:
- Information is received from Equifax- If you’ve received a notification from us saying you have missed a payment, please note that we receive this information from Equifax (our data provider).
- We can’t edit or amend this information- This means we don’t have the power to alter the information on your credit report.
- Your ‘Next Report’ tab- These will show any changes to your information as soon as we receive them from Equifax, under ‘Upcoming Changes’. These will be reflected on your ClearScore report when it is next updated, which happens once a month.
