Sometimes, we need a photograph of you holding the your identification document so that we can verify your details.
As we’re an online business, we’re unable to compare and complete these checks in person. A photograph of you holding your document shows us that it’s in your possession and that the request is genuine.
When you sign up for ClearScore, you’re subject to industry-standard security processes (similar to other financial institutions, like your bank). These can change depending on the details you’ve shared during registration, but usually we’ll need to see some ID alongside a photograph of you holding the same ID.
This helps us ensure we’re giving you - and only you - access to your credit score and report.
You’ll be prompted to send this during our registration process and these copies will only be used to verify your identity.
This is what we’ll ask you for:
- Your current UK photocard driving licence
Or
- The photo page of your current signed passport
Please make sure all four corners of the document are visible, and your full name and date of birth must be clear to read on your ID.
We might request a photograph of you holding your document as well.
As we’re an online business, unfortunately we’re unable to compare and complete these checks in person, which is why we ask you to photograph yourself holding your ID document.
Unfortunately, if you're unable to provide a valid ID, we won't be able to create a ClearScore account for you.
