We’ll notify you by email or a notification letting you know of changes that haven't happened yet. This is to help you stay on top of your finances and act quickly if you don't recognise the change.
When we notify you of an upcoming change, it can take up to a week to reflect on your credit report.
Incorrect alerts
If no change has been applied to your report after a week, there's a reason. Banks, lenders and providers sometimes make updates that trigger a notification but it doesn't affect your report. As no information has changed in your report, this won't affect you anyway.
Turning off notifications
These notifications help you check for any fraudulent or incorrect information, regularly. You can manage your weekly report notification preferences in your 'My account'.
Incorrect information
If something is incorrect in your credit report, check with the lender or entity first. Equifax can only help if you’ve already checked with the provider sharing this information. If they can’t help, you can use our form to raise a dispute with Equifax.
