If there’s information on your report that you don’t recognise, you have two main options:
1. Contact the bank or lender directly
It’s usually best (and quickest) to contact the provider to see why this information is showing on your report.
If they agree to correct this information, they’ll give the changes to Equifax (our data provider). The corrected information should appear in your ClearScore credit report within 4-5 weeks after that.
2. Raise a dispute with Equifax
If you’re unable to get this resolved with the bank or lender, you can ask Equifax (our data provider) to investigate this on your behalf. We get your report data from Equifax, so they can investigate and make changes directly.
First, you’ll need to verify your ClearScore email address. You can do this via your 'My Account’ section.
Then you can raise a dispute using our . They’ll usually acknowledge they’ve received your dispute within 24 hours. It can take up to 28 days to resolve things, but it’s often much quicker.
